World's Edge Landing Spots: Where to Drop in Season 30
World's Edge returns to ranked after the S30 rework. Real POIs, which are hot, which are safe, and how leaner loot changes your plan.
World’s Edge returned to the ranked map rotation after its Season 30 rework, and the points of interest moved. If you learned the old map, re-learn it — three POIs were replaced and two favorites came back.
The rework in one breath
The Season 30 rework swapped in East Village, Tree Settlement and War Camp, brought back Sorting Factory (connected to Lava Siphon by the train tunnel) and Construction Stacks on Fragment West, merged Big Maude into Landslide, and upgraded Countdown’s underground vault. Full POI-by-POI breakdown is in the World’s Edge rework guide — what matters for landing is below.
Hot drops (high risk, high reward)
- Fragment East / West — still the central, highest-traffic fight. Best if your squad is confident.
- Sorting Factory — returned favorite, tight rotations, rewards aggressive teams.
Safe drops (loot and rotate)
- East Village, Tree Settlement, Capitol City, Refinery — outer POIs with enough loot to kit a squad and rotate inward without an instant fight.
- Countdown — the improved vault is worth a planned grab, but it draws attention.
The loot caveat changes everything
Season 30 thinned high-tier loot (details in the loot changes guide). Even a hot POI won’t hand you purples — so loot fast, then rotate. Don’t camp one building expecting a gold gun.
Ranked fight shape on WE
World’s Edge is vertical with night visibility. Fights break close, so SMGs and shotguns shine, while ARs hold the lanes between POIs. The rework’s new zip lines reward teams that rotate early.
The decision
Solo or a shaky duo: land an outer POI (East Village, Capitol City), loot, rotate. A confident pre-made: land Fragment or Sorting Factory and force the early fight. Either way, grab a gun and shield in the first 20 seconds — the loot is leaner now.
