Bloodhound Rework in Season 30: New Kit and How to Use It
Bloodhound's Season 30 rework: a tracking passive, snapshot scans, and Allfather's Cloak, a 12-second area stealth ultimate. How to use the new kit.
Bloodhound received the largest legend update of Season 30 “Marked” — not a new legend, but a full rework. If you wrote them off as a one-note scanner, the new kit changes that.
The three changes
Passive — fresh tracks revealed. Bloodhound’s passive now lights up enemy tracks near fresh clues, giving constant, low-effort information about where squads moved.
Tactical — follow-up snapshot scans. The tactical fires scans that leave a snapshot of enemy positions, making it easier to confirm a push rather than guess.
Ultimate — Allfather’s Cloak. This is the headline. Inside the ultimate’s area, players turn invisible for up to 12 seconds after leaving it. The stealth ends the moment you take a hit or fire your weapon.
How the kit plays now
The rework turns Bloodhound from a pure recon pick into a recon-plus-ambush legend. The cloak lets you close distance or reset a fight you’re losing — but because firing breaks it, the value is in the approach and the reposition, not in shooting while hidden.
- Push with the cloak: engage from an angle enemies can’t pre-aim.
- Reset with the cloak: break line of sight, pop it, and re-peek on your terms.
- Pair with info: the passive and tactical tell you where to cloak, so you’re not flailing in the dark.
Counters and limits
- Any damage or a single shot drops the stealth — don’t over-commit thinking you’re safe.
- The 12-second window is generous but not infinite; plan the exit before you enter.
- Against teams with their own scans (or Caustic/Wattson area denial), the cloak is less free than it looks.
Where Bloodhound sits now
Post-rework, Bloodhound is a comfortable beginner pick and a legit ranked option — the information is free and the ultimate has real teeth.
