ARC Raiders Duo Tactics: Two Is the Sweet Spot
A pair covers more angles than a solo and draws less attention than a squad. How to play the format that fits most maps.
Why a duo beats a solo
A solo can be heard and seen by everything on the map. A pair splits the scouting, covers each other’s reloads, and holds two angles on an objective without either player being alone. That second body is the difference between surviving a surprise and dying to it. The solo versus squad page compares the formats. This one is about playing the duo well, because two players who bunch up are barely better than one.
Stay in voice, stay apart
The single biggest duo mistake is sticking together. Two players on top of each other share one line of sight and one ambush. Spread to where each can see the other’s flank, and the pair becomes two ambushes instead of one. When one engages, the other should be the angle, not the backup standing in the same doorway.
Share the loadout roles
One player built for close work and one for range covers more of the map than two identical kits. The loadout guide is written for the individual, but a duo should treat it as two halves of one build. A pair where both brought shotguns dies to the open field; a pair where both brought rifles dies in the building.
Communicate by direction
Call the enemy’s position relative to your partner, not the map. “Left of the container, thirty metres” is actionable. “Near the objective” is not, and the seconds spent clarifying are the seconds you get shot.
Extract as a unit
A duo that splits to extract loses the only advantage it had. Move to the exit together, cover the approach, and do not send one player ahead to die on a corner the other cannot see.
Cover overlapping arcs
In a duo, the two of you should watch different approaches so nothing sneaks between you, because a split-arc team covers more than two players staring the same way. The solo vs duo vs squad page frames the size tradeoff, and the combat guide covers spacing. A duo that overlaps arcs gets flanked.
Share the callouts
With only two, every callout is load-bearing, so name the threat and the move in one line so your partner reacts without a second ask. The audio guide tells you what is near before you see it.
