ARC Raiders Solo vs Duo vs Squad: Which Mode to Pick
ARC Raiders offers solo, duo and three-player squad. Here is how each changes enemy pressure, loot split and survival odds, and which fits your goal.
ARC Raiders lets you deploy solo, as a duo, or in a three-player squad. The choice is not just team size — more players draw more enemies, and the loot you bring home is yours to split.
Solo
You keep everything you extract and answer to no one, but you carry the full risk of the map alone. Solo is best for learning map layouts quietly or for experienced players who can self-extract under pressure. New players who solo tend to lose their gear before they learn where the exits are.
Duo
A two-stack is the most common recommendation for learning the game. One player watches while the other loots, coordination overhead stays low, and survival odds beat solo without the enemy-spawn penalty of a full squad. It is the best balance between staying calm and actually making progress.
Squad (three players)
A full squad has the highest survival odds and can take fights a duo cannot. The cost is twofold: the game spawns more enemies against a larger team, and any loot is split three ways. Squads shine when a quest needs a dedicated carrier or when you are deliberately farming high-value, high-threat zones.
Match the mode to the goal
- Learning maps → solo or duo.
- Farming value from contested zones → squad.
- Running a quest that needs an item brought out → squad with an assigned carrier, per the squad objective sharing page.
What the mode does not change
More players draw more enemies by design, so a squad is not a free difficulty reduction — it trades safety for attention. And loot is extracted individually: each survivor keeps what they carried, so a three-stack splits the haul three ways regardless of who found what. Whatever you pick, the death penalty and time budget rules apply the same, so mode changes the odds, not the fundamentals.
