Destiny 2 boss health spreadsheet: is it worth it?
Community boss-HP sheets help you plan damage phases, but Bungie rebalances often. Here is how to use them without trusting stale numbers.
The trap is easy to fall into. You download a boss-health spreadsheet from two years ago, build a loadout around its numbers, and wonder why your damage phase ends early.
Why a two-year-old sheet ages badly
Those numbers were real once. They are probably not real now. Bungie shifts boss health and damage modifiers with balance passes and with each difficulty tier, so a sheet ages fast.
A fresh community sheet is still useful. It helps you plan how many phases a boss needs and which weapons to bring for the burn. The key is recency, not fame. Grab the version tied to the current season, not the one with the most upvotes from last year.
Treat every value as a ballpark. Use it to decide between two loadouts, not as a promise of exact totals. Then confirm in-game during a real attempt, because your own buffs and the active modifiers change the math.
Power delta and difficulty tier scaling
Why does it shift so much? Encounter health scales with the power delta and the activity’s rules. A grandmaster nightfall boss is not the same fight as the same boss in a normal strike. One sheet cannot cover every version.
Build your plan, then test it. If the numbers feel off, trust the fight in front of you over the spreadsheet behind you.
Setting DPS checkpoints from the sheet
Use the sheet to set DPS checkpoints, not just totals. Knowing when a phase ends tells you which weapon to swap to and when to pop your super, which matters more than the headline number. Find current values in the active season’s community hubs rather than a random search hit. The newest sheet is usually pinned where players actually discuss the fight.
Remember difficulty tiers. The same boss at a higher tier carries more health, so match the sheet to the activity you are running, not just the name on it.
The bosses guide covers how encounters actually play out. The boss checkpoints guide explains how to set up damage attempts. The raids guide walks through the big multi-phase fights.
