Destiny 2 Zero Hour stuck at ship: fixes

Stuck at the ship in Destiny 2's Zero Hour mission? Try these fixes, from waiting out the phase to restarting the mission and verifying files.

You are deep into Zero Hour and the game will not let you move past the ship. Everyone in the fireteam is alive, and the objective has stopped updating. The cause is usually simple.

Zero Hour is the exotic mission that grants Outbreak Perfected. It runs in phases, and the transitions between them are where things break. A player who disconnects mid-phase, leaves the fireteam, or spawns in late can stall progress for everyone else. Whether the stall happens at the ship or another transition, the fix is the same.

Giving the phase sixty seconds

Wait it out first. Give the mission sixty seconds before you touch anything. Some transitions resolve themselves once the game catches up, especially after a loading hitch. If a timer is still counting, the phase is running and you are only waiting on a trigger.

A missing fireteam member blocks the trigger

Check your fireteam next. Make sure every player is in the mission and in the same area. A missing member blocks the next trigger. If someone is stuck on a loading screen, have them relaunch from orbit and rejoin through the roster.

If waiting fails, leave the activity entirely. Return to orbit and relaunch Zero Hour from the Director. The mission is short, and a clean run clears the problem in most cases.

Try a full client restart if the relaunch puts you in the same stuck state. Close Destiny 2 completely and start it again. On console, a full power cycle clears the cache and fixes loading glitches more often than players expect. On PC, verify the game files through your launcher first.

When it is a Bungie server hiccup

Before you grind, check whether the problem is on Bungie’s side. Our server status guide explains how to read downtime notices and error codes. A server hiccup looks identical to a soft-lock, and no amount of restarting helps until it clears.

If nothing works, abandon the quest step and pick it up again from the Outbreak Perfected questline. Our Outbreak Perfected guide walks through the full quest from the start.

To avoid the problem on a re-run, keep the same fireteam from start to finish. Do not swap characters, and do not leave at a phase boundary. Joining a mission already in progress is the fastest way to reproduce the bug.
