Black Hawk Down Mogadishu Mile: Final Run
Finish the hardest chapter by pacing the street advance and treating the stadium as the final objective.
Mogadishu Mile is the campaign’s final chapter and its hardest by community consensus — the exam that everything before it prepares you for. The shape of the mission is a fighting withdrawal: you escort an extraction convoy through hostile streets for roughly 1600 meters, from the crash site to the stadium, and the convoy getting through is the objective the entire time.
Nothing about that description is fast. The mission is an endurance test disguised as a firefight.
Pace the withdrawal
The single biggest failure is treating the run like a sprint:
- Stay with the convoy, not ahead of it. The convoy sets the pace. Sprinting past it cuts you off from the vehicles’ cover and leaves you alone in streets that have not been cleared yet.
- Cover to cover, deliberately. Streets are kill zones. Cross gaps with a purpose — a covered position on the far side chosen before you leave the one you are in — rather than drifting forward.
- Do not get isolated. The withdrawal works as a line. Players who break off to chase side contacts find themselves alone against converging pressure. Stay within mutual support distance.
Ammunition and equipment
The length of the run makes resource management the hidden difficulty:
- Budget from the first block. Assume the whole distance needs to be fought. Single shots and short bursts over sustained spraying; save explosives for contacts that block the route outright.
- Use the environment. Walls, wrecks, and debris along the route are cover. The advance is a sequence of short holds, not a continuous firefight.
- Check resupply options in-game. Whether the mission offers replenishment along the route changes how aggressively you can spend early on — confirm before you commit to a playstyle.
Checkpoints and the finish
Campaign missions progress through phases, and a long run benefits from knowing where the mission’s checkpoints trigger. Confirm placement in-game; on the hardest chapter, a wrong mental model of the checkpoints is how a good run gets thrown away at the end. When the stadium comes into view, treat it as the objective it is: the run is not over until you are inside it, and the ground around a finish line is where desperate defenses cluster.
Come prepared
This is not the mission to improvise on. Clear it on Normal first; the Hard version of the final chapter in a 6-8 hour campaign is a genuine step up. Bring the full four-player squad the developers recommend — shared arcs, revives, and split attention matter most over the longest distance in the campaign. Rehearse the fundamentals the earlier missions teach: spacing and arcs from the convoy mission, restraint and position choice from the night extraction. The campaign overview has the length and difficulty framework, and the requirements page is worth a look if frame rate sags during the heaviest crowd sections — a stuttering final run is a hardware problem wearing a difficulty costume.
