Escape from Tarkov Lighthouse: Water Treatment and Island
Lighthouse is a long map with one dominant position. Where the money is, why the island is a trap, and how to cross open ground.
A long map with a narrow spine
Lighthouse runs from a built-up area along the shore to the water treatment plant and the island beyond it. Most of the map is open, and the routes between the two ends are long enough that crossing them is a decision rather than a formality. That length is the design: it creates a map where the raid is decided by who controls the crossing, not by who wins a single fight.
The water treatment plant
The plant is the map’s main loot zone and its main landmark. It is a compound of buildings, fences, and open yards, which means it produces both long sightlines and tight interior fights in the same raid. Controlling the plant is a commitment: it is easy to enter and hard to leave without being seen.
The island
The island offshore holds high-value loot and one of the map’s boss encounters, and reaching it requires an exposed approach. That combination makes it the most profitable and most punishing objective on the map. Treat the island as a raid within a raid. Go with a plan for the return crossing, because the return is where the ambush happens.
Crossing the open ground
The middle of the map is open shoreline and scrub. Crossing it means being visible for a long time, so the correct approach is to cross at the edges, use the terrain folds, and never cross in the same place twice. If you have a scoped rifle, the crossing is where you will get your kills. If you do not, the crossing is where you will die to someone who does.
Boss and key considerations
Lighthouse’s boss is one of the more dangerous encounters, and its location makes it a magnet for third parties. Fighting it is a loud, long process with a predictably exposed exit. The loot rooms on this map are key-gated, so as with Shoreline, the map rewards players who brought the right keys and punishes players who brought a rifle and hope.
Who Lighthouse suits
It suits players comfortable with long-range engagements and long walks, and it punishes anyone who raids without a scoped option. It is not a beginner map, and it is not a map to learn the game’s economy on.
