Hunt: Showdown Bounty Clash: The Compound Fight

One compound, boss already dead, teams stacked on top of each other. What Bounty Clash rewards and why it punishes the loadout you run in Bounty Hunt.

What changes

The boss is dead before anyone arrives, so the banish and the token are the only PvE content in the match. There is no tracking phase, no clue route, and no time to learn the compound before someone is already inside it. That removes the part of Bounty Hunt where map knowledge pays off over ten minutes and replaces it with the part where it pays off in five seconds. You either know which window overlooks the lair or you find out while being shot from it.

The loadout problem

Loadouts built for Bounty Hunt are usually built for the approach: a rifle for the open ground between compounds, a shotgun for the lair. In Bounty Clash the approach does not exist, and half the loadout is dead weight from the first second. What works instead is a close-to-mid pairing with utility that shapes space. A shotgun plus a fast medium is a complete kit here. Trip mines, concertina and choke bombs are not luxury items; they are how you make one doorway into a decision.

Positioning is the whole skill

Bounty Clash is a staircase and doorway mode. Height wins fights more reliably than accuracy, and a team holding the stairs can beat a team with better aim coming up them. Learn the three or four structures that come up most and which corners actually overlook the lair. Sound tells you the rest: the audio page is more useful here than in any other mode, because at this range every footstep is a grid reference.

Why it is worth playing

It is the fastest way to practise the only fight that matters in Hunt โ€” the close one. Ten hours of Bounty Clash teaches room clearing, trade awareness and consumable timing faster than fifty hours of walking between compounds. It is also a hunt-dollar sink if you are careless. Losing a full loadout every eight minutes adds up, so run it with cheap kits until the win rate stabilises. The tools and consumables page has a cheap kit that covers all four situations.

When to go back

Bounty Hunt still pays better and still teaches the map. Play Clash when you want mechanical practice or a short session, and play Bounty Hunt when you want the mode the game is actually about.
