KCD2 Rosa Romance: Rosa's Book, Dancing with the Devil
Rosa's romance builds slowly: start Rosa's Book in Taking French Leave, guard her in Dancing with the Devil, finish in Oratores. It works alongside Hans.
Opening — Rosa’s Book (Taking French Leave)
Rosa’s Book is available only during the Taking French Leave main quest. If you do not start it then, it will not return. You help Rosa recover and discuss a book she wrote; the best responses show interest in her writing and her as a person. Finishing this unlocks her as a trainer (Scholarship and Marksmanship), and it is the seed of the romance. Because the window is the quest itself, Rosa’s Book is also on the Kuttenberg missable list.
The decision that protects her — Dancing with the Devil
Later, during Dancing with the Devil, Henry discovers Rosa has been taken hostage in Maleshov Fortress. You get persuasion, scholarship, and intimidation options to resolve it. The one choice to avoid is selecting the option to torch the tower. Burning the tower shows open disregard for Rosa’s safety and harms the route. Use a non-violent resolution so she survives the encounter cleanly.
The finale — Oratores
Rosa’s decisive scene unfolds during the Oratores main quest, as Henry and Rosa move through underground tunnels toward Ruthard Manor. The sequence has several beats: carry Rosa over a pool of water, warn her to be careful while climbing the ivy, defeat a group of looters and the final bandit outside her room. Then, in her chambers, choose the supportive answers and take the timed kiss option when it appears. That triggers the intimate cutscene.
Compatibility
Rosa’s route does not block the Hans-or-Katherine final choice. You can pursue Rosa and still pick Hans or Katherine in Hunger and Despair. This makes her the safest “extra” romance — see the romance overview for how the pieces fit. If you want Katherine specifically, the Katherine page covers her stricter deadlines.
Quick checklist
Start Rosa’s Book the moment Taking French Leave offers it. In Dancing with the Devil, never choose to torch the tower. Save before Oratores and take the kiss in her chambers. Keep a manual save at each main-story relocation so you can redo a beat if a dialogue option went wrong.
