Monster Hunter Wilds Farming Materials: Best Sources
The steady material sources in Monster Hunter Wilds — Investigations, event quests, the Azuz Smelting Foundry, Limited bounties, and the Melding Pot.
Investigations
Investigations are High Rank hunts with bonus reward slots and the best route to a specific monster’s materials. Save them from Field Surveys, run the three attempts each allows, and pick the one whose reward list shows what you need. For Artian parts specifically, tempered Investigations are the target — see tempered monsters and Investigations.
Permanent event quests
Rotating event quests and the ones made permanent (such as “Just What the Doctor Ordered”) are reliable decoration and material sources that do not cost Guild Points the way Investigations do. Check the Quest Counter regularly; they also became playable offline in later patches.
The Azuz Smelting Foundry
The Smelting Foundry in Azuz converts spare monster materials into reinforcement ore — Drearisite, Specklite, Argecite, and Oricalcite, each worth more points than the last. It is the main sink for materials from monsters you no longer craft from, and it also produces Armor Spheres. This is where most of your Artian reinforcement ore comes from, so do not ignore it once you start reinforcing — full details in the Artian weapons guide.
Limited bounties
Limited bounties are always active side goals (three quests in a locale, a specific monster, a difficulty tier). They refresh weekly, or daily during festivals, and pay out Armor Spheres up to the Heavy grade, melding tickets, and Oricalcite — one of the steadiest upgrade-material sources in the game.
Melding Pot
The Melding Pot in Suja (Meld Relics, available after Chapter 5 “Storm-Cold Vortex”) converts unwanted Artian parts into new ones and produces decorations. At HR100 you can craft high-rarity Artian parts directly. For the bigger picture on where to spend what you farm, read the endgame economy guide. The Artian weapons guide and tempered monsters and Investigations cover the two pipelines that matter most for endgame gear.
