Monster Hunter Wilds Artian Weapons: Forge and Reinforce

How Artian weapons work in Wilds - the Wyvern Sparks unlock, forging three same-rarity parts, setting the element, and the five reinforcement rolls.

Unlocking Artian crafting

Complete the Chapter 4 quest Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns (a Guardian Fulgur Anjanath and a Tempered Lala Barina). Finishing it grants a Damaged Weapon Shard and unlocks Artian Tier I forging at Gemma’s Smithy.

Forging: three parts, same rarity

At the smithy, pick Forge Artian Weapons, choose your weapon type, and slot in three Artian parts. All three must be the same rarity. There are four part shapes — Blade, Tube, Disc, Device — and each weapon type needs a fixed recipe (for example, Great Sword is two Blade and one Tube; Hammer is two Disc and one Tube; Switch Axe is two Blade and one Device).

Element is decided by your parts

This is the part that catches people out. The weapon takes the dominant element among your three parts:

  • Two matching elements → that element.
  • Three matching elements → a stronger element infusion.
  • Three different elements → no element at all, which is a wasted craft. Match your elements on purpose, or accept a deliberate pure-raw weapon.

Part bonuses

Every Artian part carries an Artian Bonus: an Attack Infusion (+5 raw) or an Affinity Infusion (+5% crit). Those are baked in at forge time.

Reinforcement to level 5

After forging, strengthen the weapon at the smithy up to five times. Each level grants one random bonus from Attack (+5), Affinity (+5%), Sharpness (+30, melee only), Element, or Capacity (+1, bowguns). The rolls are seeded when you forge, so the usual method is to forge and reinforce a throwaway of the same type and rarity to preview the rolls before committing your good parts. Reinforcement ore comes from Azuz (Festival Shares) or the Oilwell Basin smelter; dismantling returns the ore you spent, not the parts.

Where parts come from

Tempered monster hunts drop weapon shards that appraise into the four material types. The Melding Pot in Suja (Meld Relics, available after Chapter 5 “Storm-Cold Vortex”) can convert unwanted parts, and at HR100 you can craft high-rarity parts directly. Title Update 4 added Gogma Artian weapons — a rarity-8 base plus Gogmazios materials, with rerollable set and group skills. For what to spend your parts on, read the endgame economy guide and tempered monsters and Investigations. The armor skills guide shows how to stack the right bonuses on your Artian weapon.
