Monster Hunter Wilds Endgame Economy Decisions

The endgame economy decisions that matter in Wilds - standard tree vs Artian, where to spend parts and ore, and the trap of spreading upgrades thin.

Standard tree first, Artian later

The most common early endgame mistake is burning limited Artian parts on a mismatched-element craft. The sane order: fully upgrade one standard weapon first, then move to Artian once you have a surplus of parts from tempered hunts. One maxed weapon beats four half-upgraded ones, every time. The Artian weapons guide covers the forge and reinforcement rules.

Where your materials come from

  • Artian parts — tempered monster hunts (shards appraise into the four part types). The tougher the tempered, the higher the rarity.
  • Reinforcement ore — Azuz Festival Shares and the Oilwell Basin smelter (Drearisite, Specklite, Argecite, Oricalcite, in rising value). Dismantling an Artian weapon returns the ore, not the parts.
  • Armor Spheres — Limited bounties and the smelter; they are your armor upgrade currency.
  • Decorations — Mystery Orbs from High Rank and tempered rewards, plus specific jewels from the Melding Pot.
  • Gogma Artian — the Title Update 4 ceiling: a rarity-8 Artian base plus Gogmazios materials, with rerollable set and group skills.

Investigations vs event quests for farming

For a specific monster’s materials, save an Investigation with good reward slots and run your three attempts. For steady decorations and orbs, permanent event quests and bounties are more reliable than hoping a Field Survey lines up. The farming materials guide lists the steady sources, and tempered monsters and Investigations explains the Artian-part pipeline.

The trap: spreading thin

Wilds does not have a single upgrade-currency sink like some games, but the trap is the same — spreading your Artian parts, ore, and Armor Spheres across many weapons and sets leaves you with nothing that performs on the hardest tempered fights. Pick one or two weapons and one armor direction, max them, then branch. Before any of this opens, you have to clear the High Rank unlock, and if captures are blocking you, the capture-failure diagnostic is the place to start.
