Ranked in THE FINALS is Ranked Cashout, and it runs on a single number: Rank Score. Placement decides where you start, RS decides where you go, and the league badges are just labels attached to RS bands.

Placements first, then RS

Every player begins with four placement rounds. Those matches set your starting Rank Score, and after that you climb or fall purely on RS earned and lost per match. There is no hidden skill rating sitting on top of it — the number on your screen is the number that decides your league.

The threshold table

Six leagues, and all but Ruby contain four tiers of 2,500 RS each. Tier 4 is the bottom of a league and Tier 1 is the top.

LeagueTier 4Tier 1
Bronze07,500
Silver10,00017,500
Gold20,00027,500
Platinum30,00037,500
Diamond40,00047,500

Ruby sits above Diamond and has no RS threshold at all — it is the top 500 players on the leaderboard, 500 slots per season, and nothing else gets you in.

The practical consequence of a flat 2,500 per tier is that progress is legible. A player at 22,000 RS is Gold 4 and needs 500 more to reach Gold 3. There is no hidden promotion match and no placement game between tiers.

What resets and what does not

RS is recalculated at the start of every season. Treat it as a soft reset: your history informs the new starting point, but you are not carrying your last number in unchanged.

RS does not decay from inactivity. Taking a month off costs you nothing, which is unusual for a competitive ladder and worth knowing before you grind a season out of fear.

Disconnects cost you. Leaving a ranked match — crash, Alt+F4, or going AFK — triggers a matchmaking suspension and possibly an RS deduction. You will not be banned for it, and support will not lift the suspension, but the Reconnect button lets you rejoin a match in progress. Since Season 12, RS lost to a server outage is returned automatically within 24 hours.

Party matchmaking uses the highest rank

Queuing with friends does not average your ranks — matchmaking is built around the highest-ranked player in the party. Beyond that, Diamond and Ruby players cannot party with anyone in Silver or below at all; the search cancels outright.

That rule exists because averaging would let a high-rank player farm lower lobbies. If you want to play with a friend far below your rank, the honest route is an unranked mode.

Rewards are based on your peak

For Bronze through Diamond, you keep the reward for the highest league you reached at any point in the season, even if you drop afterwards, and each league grants everything below it. Ruby is the exception: its rewards require finishing the season inside the top 500.

Gold and above also earn a Reward Coin exchanged for cosmetics at the start of the next season, which is the part with lasting value.

If your goal is improvement rather than the badge, the ranked points guide covers how placements convert into RS, and the modes guide explains how Ranked Cashout differs from the casual version.
