Season 12 removed VRs. Here is every THE FINALS currency now: Multibucks, Playstyle Tokens, Fans, Show Tokens, Reward Coins, and Event Tickets

Season 12 PRIME TIME, launched October 20, 2026, deleted the VR currency outright. If you logged in and your balance was gone, nothing broke. Embark removed the system, and there is no exchange and no refund. This page covers what replaced it.

What happened to VRs

VRs used to buy weapons, gadgets, and specializations. Embark says players finished the equipment grind, then sat at the currency cap with nothing left to buy. So they removed it.

Weapons and gadgets are now either available automatically or supplied when you unlock their parent Playstyle with Playstyle Tokens. Open the loadout screen to see which path applies. Do not use old VR price lists to judge anything.

The currencies now

Multibucks: the premium currency. It buys cosmetics, the Premium Battle Pass, Legacy passes, outfits, skins, emotes, charms, and store bundles. You can also earn it through the battle pass and some contracts.

Playstyle Tokens: the new equipment unlock resource. Tokens unlock a Playstyle along with its associated gear. The Infiltrator tools in Season 12 arrived this way, as part of the Light Playstyle rather than a separate purchase.

Fans: earned from matches and contracts. Fans unlock Sponsor nodes and their rewards. Since Season 12, Fans also drive World Tour rank progress.

Show Tokens: earned by playing. They unlock items in Legacy Battle Passes. You can collect them without owning a pass, and the cap is 50.

Reward Coins: granted at ranked leagues and World Tour ranks. Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Ruby, and Emerald coins are exchanged for cosmetics of your choice at the start of the next season. They cannot be refunded.

Event Tickets: temporary. You earn them from daily contracts during limited-time events, and they reset when the event ends.

What money cannot buy

Embark is explicit: VR, Fans, and Show Tokens could never be bought with real money, and the same rule holds for their replacements. Only Multibucks and store bundles cost cash. The game is not pay-to-win, and gear unlocks never require spending.

Places players waste currency

  • Hunting for a VR shop that no longer exists.
  • Hoarding Event Tickets past the event end. They expire.
  • Spending Reward Coins mid-season. They are exchanged at the start of the next one.

Reward Coins and Show Tokens are separate tracks, and the reward coins page explains what ranked performance pays into.

Show Tokens are the earned-only one, and the Show Tokens page covers the free route to them.
