Apex Ranked Distribution in Season 30: Where Players Sit
Where the Apex player base sits by rank in Season 30, why most players cluster in Gold–Platinum, and how to set a realistic climb target.
Ranked distribution matters because it tells you what “average” and “good” actually mean — and stops you from misreading a badge. The ladder structure itself explains the shape.
Where players actually sit (Season 30 Split 2)
The table below is lfcarry’s tracked ladder snapshot from 20 September 2026 — 3,223,079 known ranked players, the same dataset our ranked guides draw from:
| Tier | Share of ranked players |
|---|---|
| Silver | 30.6% |
| Gold | 20.6% |
| Bronze | 18.0% |
| Rookie | 11.1% |
| Platinum | 15.7% |
| Diamond | 3.90% |
| Apex Predator | 0.070% |
| Master | 0.023% |
Read it correctly and three things jump out:
- Silver is the biggest single band — “average Apex player” means Silver, not Gold.
- Bronze + Rookie + Silver ≈ 60% of the ladder. If you are in Gold, you are already ahead of most of the field.
- Diamond is a ~4% club and Master + Predator combined are ~0.1%. These are the ladders where entry cost (60/75 RP) and decay actually bite.
One honesty note: third-party trackers disagree with each other by season, split and sample (another popular snapshot puts Silver even higher and Gold lower). The shape is stable — a fat low-middle, a thin Diamond cap — but treat any single percentage as an estimate, not a census.
The ladder shape explains the numbers
The eight tiers (Rookie → Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum → Diamond → Master → Apex Predator) are front-loaded: Rookie through Diamond each split into four divisions, so the population pools in the mid bands. Apex Predator is capped at the top 750 per platform — it is a hard number, never a percentage, which is why its share shrinks as more players queue.
Setting a realistic target
- New to ranked: stabilize in Gold first — that beats roughly 60% of the tracked ladder.
- Improving: Platinum–Diamond is where placement-over-kills discipline (see ranked system explained) separates you from the pack.
- Don’t chase Predator numbers — it is a platform cap, not a skill percentile you “grind to.”
