Apex Ranked Map Rotation: The 3 Maps and How Often They Swap

Ranked runs World's Edge, Storm Point and E-District, rotating every ~4.5 hours. What each map demands and which legends thrive there.

“Ranked map rotation right now” is one of the most searched Apex queries for a reason: the answer changes while you read. Here is the structure behind it and why it should change how you queue.

The current core pool

Ranked and pubs share a three-map core pool in Season 30:

  • World’s Edge — reworked for Marked, night-time visual overhaul, returning POIs (Sorting Factory, Construction Stacks).
  • Storm Point — the largest map; vehicles and wildlife matter.
  • E-District — dense, urban, close-quarters by design.

Older maps (Kings Canyon, Olympus, Broken Moon) are not gone — they return through Mixtape modes (TDM, Control, Gun Run) and limited-time Wildcard playlists, so the maps you see in a week are broader than the core BR pool.

How often it rotates

  • Ranked rotates roughly every 4.5 hours.
  • Pubs (unranked) rotate roughly every 90 minutes.

That means in a normal session you cycle through all three maps fairly quickly. Respawn previews rotation changes in official patch notes, and rotations can shift mid-season around events — so the live in-game map card is always the final word.

What each map actually rewards

MapIdentityFavors
World’s EdgeVertical, industrial POIs, now with night visibility to manageTight, vertical fights; legends that hold high ground and rotate fast
Storm PointLargest map, long rotations, Prowlers/Spiders/FlyersVehicles, patience, legends that survive long traverses
E-DistrictDense, urban, close rangeSMGs and shotguns over long-range kits

If you consistently do better on one map, that is a signal: your playstyle (aggressive close-range vs patient long-range positioning) suits that geography. Leaning into it in ranked is a quiet edge over opponents who play every map identically.

How to use the rotation

  • Check the in-game map card before a ranked session and warm up the legends and guns that map rewards.
  • On Storm Point, pre-plan rotations and respect third parties on long traverses.
  • On E-District, bring a close-range loadout (see Apex weapon tier list) instead of forcing a sniper.
  • On World’s Edge, learn the reworked POIs — Sorting Factory and Stacks change endgames.

For the system those maps feed into, read Apex ranked system explained. For per-map legend picks, see best legends for each map. The reworked map itself is covered in World’s Edge rework.
