ARC Raiders Crafting: What to Make and What to Skip

Crafting is a material conversion puzzle. Which recipes actually save you money and which are just slower shopping.

Crafting is a trade, not a discount

A recipe converts materials into an item. Whether that is worth doing depends on two things: what the materials sell for, and whether you can find the item for free. Most recipes that look like savings are actually material sinks for items you would find in two raids anyway. The ones worth doing are for consumables you always want more of.

The items worth crafting

Ammunition, healing, and utility items you use every raid. These are consumed constantly, which means the crafting bench is the only way to keep supply ahead of demand. Crafting a weapon you will lose in the next raid is usually a worse use of materials than crafting the ammunition that keeps you alive.

Materials have opportunity cost

Every material you spend has a sale price. A recipe is only efficient if the finished item is worth more to you than the materials are. New players craft because the recipe is available. Experienced players craft because the arithmetic is in their favour.

Station levels gate everything

Crafting stations have levels, and levels unlock recipes. That means upgrading the workbench is the first crafting decision, and it is the one that determines what you can make for the rest of the wipe. Prioritising station upgrades over individual recipes is almost always correct.

What to never craft

Anything you can reliably find. Anything whose recipe costs materials you cannot replace. And anything that requires a component you have exactly one of, because the loss is worse than the gain.

The material bank

Keep a stocked stash of the common materials and sell the surplus. Running out mid-craft is the most annoying failure in the game, and it is entirely avoidable.

The five-minute bench stop

Between raids, spend five minutes at the bench: top up ammunition, replace broken healing, and check whether a station upgrade is affordable. That routine turns crafting from an occasional project into a supply chain, and it is the difference between always having what you need and improvising with what is left.
