ARC Raiders 'Extract With' Quests: Why It Won't Count
Many ARC contracts stay incomplete after you grab the item: it only counts on extraction. The rule, the safe-pocket exception and the carrier mistake.
ARC Raiders quest objectives are not all the same type, and the mix is what traps players. A contract can ask you to Visit a place, Search or collect an object, Deliver or display it, Destroy a specific ARC machine, or — the one that surprises people — Extract with a named item. The last category only completes if you finish the raid while still carrying the required object.
The rule
When the quest tracker says to extract with an item, that item must be in your inventory or safe pocket when the raid ends successfully. Reading a note, opening a bag, or displaying an object may update the step immediately, but the chain remains incomplete until you extract with the object in your possession. If you die, disconnect, or extract without it, the progress does not count.
The safe-pocket exception
Items stored in your Safe Pocket survive a knockout and still count toward extraction. For any quest that requires you to carry something out, the safe pocket is the right place for it — but only if your loadout actually has one. A Free Loadout has no safe pocket at all, which the safe pocket guide explains in detail.
The squad carrier mistake
In a squad, item pickups are tracked individually while actions like scans, kills, and area discovery are shared. That split is where runs fall apart. If a quest needs a specific item brought out, assign one carrier before you deploy and build the run around keeping that player alive. If the carrier goes down, the items they were holding are lost and the quest effectively resets. Handing items back and forth mid-raid does not split credit. The squad objective sharing page covers the exact rules.
Common failures
- Extracting without the required item, even if you successfully leave the map.
- Dying after picking it up — progress deletes with the knockout.
- Dropping or selling the item, or leaving it in a container that will not travel with you.
- Assuming a vendor-bought or previously stashed item qualifies when the step asks for something “found in raid.” The safe sequence is: confirm the item is in your inventory or safe pocket, complete any display or delivery interaction, then leave through an extraction point. Read the exact quest text before deploying — older guides describing one map’s gondola route are not a universal rule.
