ARC Raiders Squad Objective Sharing: What Counts for Whom
In squads, pickups are individual but scans, kills and discoveries are shared - and a past bug let sharing complete item quests. How to assign a carrier.
Running contracts in a squad is faster only if everyone understands what credits whom. ARC Raiders splits squad progress into two buckets, and the split is where coordinated runs succeed and careless ones fall apart.
Pickups are individual
Items you pick up — including quest-specific objects — count for you, not your squadmates. If a contract needs an item extracted, the player who holds it is the one whose tracker advances. This is why, for an item-extract quest, you should assign a single carrier before deploying and protect that player.
Actions are shared
Scans, kills, and area discoveries are credited to the squad as a whole. A kill one player lands progresses a combat contract for everyone, and a location a teammate reveals counts for the group. These shared actions are the real speed advantage of squad play.
The carrier rule in practice
If your designated carrier goes down, the quest items they were holding are lost and the quest effectively resets — handing items back and forth mid-raid does not split the credit. Build the run around keeping the carrier alive, even if that means sacrificing some damage or loot efficiency.
A bug worth knowing
A past bug let squad sharing incorrectly complete objectives that spawned quest-specific items, so players leaned on a teammate grabbing the object to finish their own step. That was fixed in patch 1.7.0, and the correct behavior is now individual. Do not rely on a squadmate to complete your item quest.
Before you extract
Because pickups are individual, each player should confirm their own quest tracker before leaving the map. A teammate standing in the extraction point does not finish your step if the item is in your bag, not theirs. The extract-with rule and safe pocket guide explain how to secure it yourself, and your mode choice sets how much backup you have if the carrier drops.
