ARC Raiders Squad Callouts: Say Less, Survive More
Good callouts in ARC Raiders are about timing and direction, not narration. How to communicate under pressure without drowning your squad.
The callout is a decision, not a description
When something happens, your squad does not need a story. They need to know what moved, where it is relative to you, and what to do about it. A callout that takes ten seconds to say is a callout nobody acts on, because the situation changed while you talked. The solo vs duo vs squad page covers how group size changes your risk. The short version is that a squad only beats its size disadvantage when everyone reacts to the same information at the same time, and that requires callouts fast enough to still be true when heard.
Use clock directions, not left and right
Left and right flip depending on which way a teammate is facing, so they cause more confusion than clarity. Use clock positions relative to the squad’s shared facing, or name the landmark the enemy is near. “Machine at the blue gate” beats “machine on your left” because the blue gate does not move with someone’s camera. The maps guide gives you the landmark names worth memorizing. Callouts built on those names cost nothing to learn and remove the translation step when a fight starts.
Separate threats from noise
A squad that calls out every sound loses the calls that matter. Reserve voice for things that require a decision: an enemy that moved, a teammate down, an extraction that opened. Let the audio guide do the work of telling you what is nearby, and use your words for what the audio cannot tell your teammates. When everything is called out, nothing is. The squad that stays quiet until a real decision point arrives reacts faster than the squad that narrates the whole raid.
Call the retreat before the bag is full
The worst callout is the one made too late, after the squad is already surrounded and holding loot it cannot carry out. Name the turnaround point early, and call the extraction the moment the plan starts failing rather than after it has already failed. Players who call retreat late explain their death. Players who call it early explain their survival, because the bag still comes out when you leave on your terms.
