Best Pistol / Secondary in Black Ops 7 (Season 6)
The Season 6 secondaries in BO7 — CODA 9 is the pocket SMG, Jager 45 and Velox 5.7 are the automatics, and 1911 is the classic. Real TTK and RPM.
Secondary weapons in Black Ops 7 punch above their weight compared with older Call of Duty titles — the top pistols are genuine finishers, not just reload insurance. In Season 6 the pistol meta is small and clear. The ladder and stats below are from the live Season 6 Multiplayer state (CODMunity pistol rankings and MetaRadar, checked October 2026).
The Season 6 pistol meta
| Pistol | Meta tier | Role |
|---|---|---|
| CODA 9 | Absolute Meta | Full-auto “pocket SMG” |
| 1911 | Absolute Meta | Classic semi-auto |
| Jager 45 | Absolute Meta | Full-auto reliable backup |
| Velox 5.7 | Very Good | Semi-auto burst, large mag |
CODA 9 — the pocket SMG
CODA 9 is the standout: a fully automatic sidearm that behaves like a miniature SMG, with the fastest close-range TTK of any pistol. It is the right secondary for snipers, shotgunners and flankers who need to survive a close fight when the primary is down. A strong build pairs a 9mm suppressor, a short Halberd barrel, a bulk magazine, an express grip and a recoil-sync unit to smooth the spray and extend the mag.
Jager 45 — the reliable automatic
Jager 45 is a full-auto pistol at 600 RPM with a 410 m/s velocity, a 150 ms ADS and a 110 ms sprint-to-fire. Against 150 HP its chest TTK is about 300 ms inside 20 m (200 ms to the head), dropping to roughly 400 ms past 20 m. With a 2.3 s reload and a 10-round base mag, it is the safe all-round backup; extend the mag and add a comp (H-45 Precision Comp, 8.7” EAM Voyager barrel, extended mag, VX-Shift grip, pistol recoil spring) to make it a real finisher.
Velox 5.7 — the burst specialist
Velox 5.7 is a semi-auto with a 15-round magazine and a 549 RPM fire rate. Its Multiplayer versatile build — FANG HoverPoint ELO, Redwell Shade-X Suppressor, the Velox 5.7 Carbine Chassis, an extended mag and a quickdraw grip — posts a 435 ms TTK at 10–40 m. The Carbine Chassis kit is what turns it from a weak sidearm into a capable one. Pick it if you prefer precise trigger work over full-auto spray.
1911 — the classic default
1911 is the Absolute Meta classic semi-auto: stable, predictable, and easy to land. It is the safest pick if you just want a dependable backup and never plan to lean on the pistol.
How to choose your secondary
- You run a sniper or shotgun and fear close range: CODA 9 (pocket SMG).
- You want automatic backup without thinking: Jager 45.
- You like controlled burst and a bigger mag: Velox 5.7 with the Carbine Chassis.
- You want the simplest reliable sidearm: 1911.
Build and mode notes
Pistols want recoil and handling parts, not range. The attachment philosophy guide covers the universal best-in-slot logic, and the full weapon list shows the four-gun pistol pool. These are Multiplayer values; Warzone and Zombies tune pistols differently. This is the Season 6 state as of October 2026 — a single balance pass can promote or drop a pistol tier, so re-check the live meta before a ranked grind.
