Black Ops 7 Best Guns Tier List (Season 6)
FG42, AN-94 and Gremlin lead Season 6; M15 Mod 0 and Dravec 45 are the safe ranked picks. Which BO7 gun to main by mode and range.
Season 6 is the final season of Black Ops 7, and the weapon meta rewards matching the gun to the map size and mode rather than blindly chasing the S-tier. The named top guns are stable across recent patches, but the right choice shifts with range.
The S-tier leaders
- AN-94 — its two-round hyperburst drops enemies before most rifles settle, and a post-buff minimum damage, ADS speed and recoil reduction make it one of the most well-rounded assault rifles.
- FG42 — the highest base-damage assault rifle; fastest-killing at mid-range, with a slight delay before the first shot. The all-rounder for Hardpoint and Domination.
- Gremlin — the top SMG, built for aggressive pushing with excellent hip-fire accuracy and handling. King of small maps and objective rushing.
- Kogot-7 — blistering fire rate, the close-quarters king for objective rushing.
- HDR — one-shot sniper potential regardless of distance or armor; the gold standard for lane control.
- Velox 5.7 — akimbo secondary that turns your pistol slot into a shotgun-like powerhouse without an Overkill perk.
Strong A-tier alternatives
VX Compact (all-rounder), Ryden 45K (mobility/strafe), Sokol (flinch resist vs snipers), M10 Breacher (shotgun CQC), VS Recon (rapid-follow-up sniper), MK.78 and Mammoth (LMGs), EGRT-17, M8A1, Warden 308, and Dravec 45 (SMG).
Beginner-friendly picks
M15 Mod 0 (long-range AR after a damage-range and bullet-velocity buff), Dravec 45, MK.78, M8A1, and VS Recon. These are forgiving while you learn recoil and sightlines.
Ranked-safe choices
M15 Mod 0 as the anchor AR and Dravec 45 as the SMG, both run with the Perk Greed wildcard, are the competitive standard. FG42 remains the best all-purpose rifle for public respawn modes.
The judgment that matters
Do not just equip the highest-tier gun. SMGs win on tiny maps, assault rifles own mid-range, and snipers hold lanes — and an A-tier gun you can control beats an S-tier gun you cannot. MW4 (released 23 October 2026) is a separate title; BO7 Season 6 is the current competitive cycle.
