Best Black Ops 7 Controller Settings: Aim and Movement

Recommended BO7 controller settings: ~1.6 stick sensitivity, low deadzones, Dynamic aim curve, Target Aim Assist on, FOV 100-110, and what to turn off.

With BO7’s Omnimovement and wall jumps, controller setup decides as much as gun skill. These are community-recommended baselines from creators like WhoIsImmortal and LunchTime — start here, then adjust a few settings at a time in the Firing Range until it feels right.

Sensitivity and deadzone

  • Horizontal / Vertical stick sensitivity: ~1.60 for both. Too low and you can’t flick or turn; too high and you overshoot.
  • Deadzones: keep them low so input registers with minimal lag. Right stick minimum around 2-5 (raise it only if you have stick drift), left stick minimum at 0, both maximums at 99. Trigger deadzones at 0.
  • Controller vibration and trigger effect: off. They add delay and distract.

Aiming

  • Target Aim Assist: On. This is the assist that matters most on controller.
  • Aim Response Curve: Dynamic — smoother tracking than Standard.
  • ADS Sensitivity Transition Timing: Instant or Gradual, whichever snaps naturally for you.
  • Custom Sensitivity Per Zoom: On, and lower the multiplier for higher-zoom optics (roughly 0.80-0.95) so long-range aim stays stable.

Movement assists

BO7’s new movement is precise enough that most assists do more harm than good once you’re deliberate:

  • Wall Jump Assist: Off, or set to sideways-only if you want help with the new wall-jump without it overriding your intent.
  • Corner Slice, Mantle Assist, Crouch Assist, Combat Roll Assist: Off — manual control avoids unintended movements in gunfights.
  • Slide / Dive Behavior: Tap to Slide for faster transitions.

FOV and extras

  • Field of View: 100-110 (105 is the common sweet spot) — wider FOV means more situational awareness at the cost of a slightly smaller targets.
  • 3rd Person ADS Correction Type: Assist.
  • 1st / 3rd Person Camera Movement: Least (50%) so explosions don’t shake your aim.
  • Motion Blur (world and weapon): Off.

Button layout

The Tactical layout, with crouch and prone remapped to the right stick, lets you drop and aim faster. If your controller has back paddles, map jump there so you can slide-cancel and aim at the same time. These settings are a baseline, not a finish line — the movement system itself is what turns good settings into clean plays, and the current meta weapons are what you’ll be aiming them at.
