BO7 Omnimovement: Wall Jumps and the Tac Sprint Change
BO7 refines BO6 Omnimovement with Wall Jumps and makes Tactical Sprint a Perk. Here's what changed, how to chain wall jumps, and where to practice.
If you played Black Ops 6, BO7’s movement will feel familiar but not identical. Treyarch kept Omnimovement — the 360-degree, any-direction sprint — and refined it: it added Wall Jumps and pulled Tactical Sprint out of the default kit. Here is what actually changed and how to use it, since the changes catch a lot of BO6 veterans off guard.
What Omnimovement still is
The core returns: you can sprint in any direction at full speed, including sideways and backward, with slide-cancel and jump-slide routes intact. BO7 calls this a “refined” version of the BO6 system rather than a replacement.
Wall Jumps (the new piece)
- You can leap off designated vertical surfaces, marked with a wall-jump icon, to gain height, cross gaps, or chain routes.
- Up to three Wall Jumps can be chained, but each successive jump loses inertia — so the chain has a natural limit and will not let you bounce forever around a map.
- Maps were built around this. Look for staggered walls next to elevated platforms; those are the intended wall-jump routes.
- There is an optional Wall Jump Assist setting if you want help timing the leaps. Test it in the training course first — auto-jumps can interfere with jump-shooting or bunny-hopping if you rely on those.
Tactical Sprint is now a Perk
- In BO6, Tactical Sprint (a limited burst faster than normal sprint) was on by default for everyone.
- In BO7, it is removed as a default option and granted through an optional Perk in Multiplayer. If you want Tac Sprint, you build your loadout around a perk that provides it.
- To balance the loss, all Operators have a higher baseline movement speed than in BO6.
Other movement refinements
- Mantling (vaulting) is smoother and faster.
- Sliding feels more controlled — Treyarch tuned slide speed and distance down from BO6 based on feedback.
The perk that restores Tac Sprint lives in your loadout’s perk slots — our BO7 Loadout Guide shows where it fits alongside the other seven slots. Wall-jump routes are map-specific, so our BO7 Multiplayer Maps is the place to see which launch maps were built around them.
- In Zombies, the system is separate: baseline speed is also up, Tac Sprint comes via the Sprinter Perk, and Combat Roll sits under the Mountaineer perk. Do not assume the MP perk setup applies there.
How to practice
BO7 offers a Multiplayer Training course on first boot, and it stays accessible later from the main lobby Options menu. Use it to drill Wall Jump timing and the new slide feel before jumping into public or ranked matches. It is the fastest way to stop feeling like your BO6 movement habits are fighting you.
