Destiny 2 Festival Flight: event rewards explained

Festival of the Lost rewards follow a fixed path: earn event currency in Haunted Sectors, then buy masks and ornaments on the event card or Eververse.

Event rewards in Destiny 2 rarely need luck, and that surprises players who save all their luck for raids. Searches for the Festival Flight usually come from people chasing one named reward and missing the event’s simple structure. Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost is an annual Halloween event. Its rewards follow a fixed path: play the event, earn currency, then claim or buy. Once you see the path, the grind gets short.

How the Festival of the Lost works

The event runs around late October. Check the Events panel in the Director for exact dates, since Bungie confirms timing each year. During the event, Lost Sectors often return as Haunted Sectors, and the event card lists challenges that pay out rewards. Most challenges can be finished in a few sessions if you play core playlists alongside the event. Nothing here requires a fireteam, so solo players can finish most of it alone.

Where the Festival Flight reward comes from

Event currency buys the good stuff. Masks and helmet ornaments are the signature rewards. Some come from Haunted Sectors, and others can be bought with event currency or Bright Dust. Check the event card and the Eververse store in-game to see which is which this year.

If the Festival Flight turns out to be a cosmetic or a triumph from a past year, check its entry in Collections. That entry will name the source. Many past event cosmetics return to the Eververse store during the event, so a reward you missed can often be bought again. Bright Dust is the usual currency there, and the bright dust guide covers the fastest ways to earn it.

Finish the event card

Challenges refresh with each weekly reset. Finishing the event card before the event ends is the difference between a full set and a missing piece. If you are behind on Power, catch up before the next event lands.

Track everything through the event card. It shows what you have earned and what is left, and it is the only checklist you need. When the event closes, unclaimed rewards can be lost, so claim early rather than late.
