Destiny 2 runs on fixed reset times. Missing the weekly reset means missing a full round of raid loot. Here is the schedule and what moves.

The reset schedule

ResetTime (UTC)What it covers
Daily17:00Daily bounties, rotating activity bonuses
WeeklyTuesday 17:00Raid and dungeon lockouts, Nightfall rotation
XurFriday 17:00 to Tuesday resetXur’s inventory and Strange Coin stock

All times are UTC. Convert to your zone once and set a phone reminder for Tuesday. That is the one that matters.

What the weekly reset changes

Raid and dungeon lockouts reset, so you can earn encounter loot again. The Nightfall rotates to a new strike with a new weapon focus. Featured raid and featured dungeon rotations move, and any world Distortion changes with them.

Vanguard, Pinnacle, and Arena Ops rotate their Bonus Focus weapon daily, not weekly. That is a separate timer from the Tuesday reset.

Where to check this week’s rotation

The Director shows the current Nightfall, featured activities, and any active modifiers. Hover the activity tiles before you queue.

The in-game News tile carries maintenance notices and event announcements. Bungie.net posts patch notes and hotfix details there too. Third-party reset trackers mirror the same data in a browser if you prefer planning at work.

Zavala weapon this week

The Nightfall weapon focus is what players mean by “Zavala weapon this week.” Nightfall completions build toward a focused Nightfall weapon drop at Vanguard ranks.

You can also buy focused weapons outright from Zavala in the Tower. Each one costs three Vanguard Engrams, three Vanguard Ciphers, and 15,000 Glimmer. Those drop at a lower tier than the Nightfall farm, so treat the purchase as a shortcut, not the goal.

How to plan your week

Do lockout content first. Raids and dungeons on reset day, because the loot cap does not move. After that, farm whatever the Bonus Focus rotation favors. Leave pinnacle grind for last, once you know what your Power ceiling is.

The two rotations that change whether logging in is worth it are the featured raid week and the Nightfall, which the Nightfalls page tracks.
