Destiny 2 Insurrection Prime: Zero Hour Boss Guide
Fight Insurrection Prime in the Zero Hour exotic mission. Learn the encounter flow and how to grab Outbreak Perfected with a team.
Most Insurrection Prime wipes come from one mistake: teams push damage during the wrong phase and burn heavy ammo on nothing. The boss does not take meaningful damage the whole fight. Learning when it is vulnerable is the fix.
Insurrection Prime is the final boss of Zero Hour, the exotic mission that grants Outbreak Perfected. The mission has been in the game since 2019 and sits in the Cosmodrome. Expect a long infiltration with several enemy waves before the Servitor boss.
The encounter flow
Zero Hour opens with an approach section through Fallen-held ground. Adds patrol the path, and moving as a team prevents resets. Once you reach the boss arena, the fight breaks into clear phases.
Waves of Fallen spawn first. Clear them while watching the arena, because the boss sends interference between waves. Then Insurrection Prime becomes the target. It cycles between shielded and vulnerable states, so hold heavy ammo and abilities for the open window instead of dumping them early.
A good rule: save supers for the first vulnerable phase after a wave clear. That is when the boss stays exposed long enough to matter.
Rewards and the catalyst
Outbreak Perfected drops from completing the mission. The exotic pulse rifle ramps up its damage the longer you hit the same target, which makes it strong against the boss itself.
The weapon’s catalyst comes from the heroic version of the mission. Heroic Zero Hour is tougher and adds objectives along the route. Follow the Outbreak Perfected quest steps in your Pursuits tab, and check the Tower’s Hangar if you cannot find the starting step.
Finding a team
Exotic missions have no matchmaking, so most players use an LFG site or Discord. Our LFG guide covers posting etiquette and what to specify, like a catalyst run so nobody joins expecting a normal clear.
For a full walkthrough, our Zero Hour guide covers the route, and the Outbreak Perfected guide covers the weapon. Our exotic missions guide lists what each exotic mission rewards.
The phase logic here is the same one the boss DPS meta page describes for every raid boss, so the habit transfers.
