Last Wish is the raid that opened Year 2 of Destiny 2, and it remains a community favorite. It takes place inside the Leviathan’s ascendant plane. It is free to play, and it drops the One Thousand Voices exotic rocket launcher plus the full raid weapon and armor sets.

Last Wish encounter breakdown

The raid has six encounters. Kalli and Shuro Chi are the opening pair: one is a damage and plates fight, the other is a puzzle with a moving tower. Morgeth is the buff-management boss where you must lose and regain your buffs at the right times. The Vault is the iconic symbol-matching gauntlet. Riven is the heart of the raid, a fight with a strict eye mechanic and damage phases. Queenswalk closes it out with a race against the raid’s curse.

Preparing for Last Wish

Bring weapons with strong burst damage and a loadout that can break shields quickly. Most groups expect around power level 1330 or higher for a comfortable clear. Communication matters more than raw damage here, because nearly every encounter punishes a missed callout.

Farming it

Last Wish rotates into the featured raid slot from time to time. During featured weeks, encounters can be re-run for loot without a weekly lockout, which is when most players farm for the exotic and specific weapons. Check the raid rotator in the Director before you start.

Last Wish mistakes at Morgeth, Riven, and the Vault

  • Losing your Morgeth buff on purpose and dying before you can regain it.
  • Missing Riven’s eye callouts and wiping the team.
  • Skipping the Vault symbols instead of learning them.

FAQ

Is Last Wish free? Yes. It is available to all players.

Can it be soloed? Not in any practical sense. It needs a fireteam.

What is the best weapon to bring? Anything with burst, plus a shield-break option.

Last Wish prep checklist, power to callouts

  • Reach the recommended power level.
  • Learn the Vault symbols before your first run.
  • Use callouts in Riven.
  • Farm during featured weeks.

The exotic is a final-chest drop, and the One Thousand Voices page covers the Ethereal Key; farm during a featured raid week if that chest is all you want.
