Who voices Ghost in Destiny 2? The short answer is Nolan North. He took over the role during Curse of Osiris, replacing Peter Dinklage, who voiced the Ghost when the game launched in 2017. That recast is the most famous voice change in the game’s history, and most players accepted it quickly.

The Vanguard’s voice cast

Commander Zavala is voiced by Lance Reddick. His calm, heavy delivery anchored the Tower for years. Reddick died in 2023, and fans still hear his recorded lines in the game. Ikora Rey is played by Gina Torres, and Saint-14 is voiced by Bumper Robinson. Spend a week in the Tower and you hear all three.

Allies, villains and the seasonal cast

Cayde-6 was voiced by Nathan Fillion, whose humor made the Hunter Vanguard a fan favorite. Eris Morn is played by Morla Gorrondona, while the Drifter is voiced by Tony Amendola. Savathûn, the central threat of The Witch Queen, is voiced by Debra Wilson. Mara Sov is voiced by Kirsten Potter.

Seasonal stories keep adding new faces. Every expansion brings vendors, enemies and cutscene-heavy missions, so the credit roll grows as the story moves on. Most performances are recorded in a booth, with performance capture used for the biggest story moments. Seasonal vendors rotate, so their actors change more often than the main cast.

How to check the full cast

The game keeps a complete credit roll. You can find it in the menus after major story beats. Community wikis also track named characters and their actors, which helps for side roles that only appear for one season.

Voice recasts happen for real-world reasons. An actor’s availability, health or scheduling can force a change, and Bungie does not always announce it in advance. If a character sounds different later in the story, a change in the booth is the usual reason.

If you are still catching up on the story, the campaign order guide shows where each arc fits. New players should start with the beginner’s guide before chasing seasonal cutscenes.
