Escape from Tarkov Factory: The Five Minute Raid
Factory is all corridors and no distance. Why it is the best place to learn gunfights and the worst place to bring a rifle.
The smallest map in the game
Factory is a compact industrial interior with tight corridors, catwalks, and a handful of rooms. There is no long sightline, no open ground, and no way to avoid contact for long. That makes it the best place in Tarkov to practise the thing that actually kills people: fighting at close range with no time to think.
Raids are short and violent
A Factory raid is usually over within minutes, either because you extracted or because someone ended it. There is no looting phase, no quiet route, and no second chance to reposition after a bad engagement. For a new player that sounds brutal, and it is. It is also the fastest way to learn what your kit does at three metres.
Gear level is compressed
Because fights are close and fast, the advantage of expensive armour shrinks and the advantage of a fast-firing weapon with good ammunition grows. A budget kit with the right ammo is competitive here in a way it is not on Woods. The flip side is that the losses are cheap too, which makes Factory the natural map for using gear you are afraid to lose elsewhere.
Verticality and sound
Factory’s catwalks mean sound is misleading: footsteps overhead and footsteps in the corridor sound similar, and the ceiling between them does not block gunfire reliably. The practical rule is to hold a corner and let people come to you. Pushing a corridor in Factory is a coin flip; holding one is a position.
The exit question
Factory’s exits are limited and some require an item or a condition. That turns the end of a raid into a puzzle at exactly the moment other players are also trying to leave. Know your exit before you spawn, and if the exit condition cannot be met, extract early rather than farming the last container.
What to take
A close-range weapon, ammunition that penetrates the armour you expect, and a helmet. Leave the scoped rifle at home - it is a liability in a building. Grenades are disproportionately strong here because every fight is in a room with no escape route.
