Escape from Tarkov Traders Overview
Traders are your shop, your quest givers, and your reputation gate. Prapor, Therapist, Fence, and the rest each sell different things. A map of who sells what and why levels matter.
Each trader has a specialty
Prapor sells guns and grenades. Therapist sells meds and containers. Skier sells rigs and weapons. Peacekeeper deals in NATO gear. Mechanic handles mods. Ragman sells armor and clothing. Fence trades in looted goods and reputation. The trader leveling page covers how to raise each one.
Levels unlock the good stock
A trader at level one sells starter gear. Higher levels unlock the weapons, ammo, and armor you actually want. Leveling comes from completing quests and building reputation, so the quest guide and trader progression are the same loop.
Fence reputation is separate
Fence cares about your scav karma and whether you kill scavs, not quest completions. The scav karma page explains the system; a high Fence level gives better scav gear and better insurance odds.
Barter when cash is short
Many high-value items are bought with barter trades, not roubles. The barter guide shows the trades worth knowing; when your wallet is thin, barter keeps you equipped. The money making page funds all of this. Traders are the destination for every rouble you earn.
Quest to unlock
Most of the best stock is gated behind trader levels you raise through quests and reputation, so the quest guide and trader progression are the same loop. The trader leveling page shows the path, and barter guide covers trades when cash is short. Fence reputation runs on scav karma instead.
Specialize your loyalty
You cannot max every trader fast, so focus on the two or three you shop at most and let the rest wait. The money making page is the destination for every rouble.
Traders gate progression
Each trader unlocks gear and quests as you level them, so decide who to grind first by what you need. The trader leveling page plans the order. A Tarkov player who levels the right trader gears faster.
