How to Kill Bile Titans in Helldivers 2

Bile Titan head armor, bile sacs worth popping, and why anti-tank is the honest answer, plus the movement rules that keep you alive.

Armor and the targets that matter

Its head sits at armor value 5. Following the rule set out in the armor penetration guide, anything below anti-tank class simply ricochets off that skull, which means ordinary primaries cannot meaningfully contribute to the kill no matter how long you hold the trigger. There are two legitimate targets. The head takes anti-tank fire, and the glowing bile sacs along its back are exploitable when you cannot get a clean angle on the head. Popping a sac is genuinely useful — suppressing its bile spit makes the fight far easier to move around in — but treating that as a guaranteed kill is a mistake. It is a way to buy safety and damage windows, not a replacement for killing it. Do not plan around stun. Heavy tank-class units are effectively immune to the stun buildup described in the stun meter guide, so a stun grenade will not hold a Bile Titan open for you the way it can against infantry.

Strategy

Keep moving and respect the acid. Its bile attack covers a wide area, so repositioning constantly costs far less health than trading with it. Let the anti-heavy role work the head or the sacs with support weapons, while everyone else handles the swarm that is trying to reach your gunners — if you spend your heavy call-ins on chaff, the next Titan is the one that wipes you. Heavy stratagems are the dependable finishers: Eagle 500kg bombs, Orbital Laser, Orbital Railcannon strikes, and barrage-type options all put meaningful damage into it. See explosion radii for why placement matters as much as raw damage for these calls. One detail that helps: reinforcing teammates who land on a Bile Titan’s carapace deals damage to it. It is a small edge, but free. Exact health pools and breakpoints shift between patches, so treat any specific shot count you read elsewhere as unreliable and confirm in-game.
