KCD2 Dice Guide: How to Win at Farkle and Earn Groschen

How the KCD2 dice game works: scoring, when to bank or reroll, the special dice worth hunting, and the habits that turn Farkle into steady groschen.

How a turn works

Roll up to six dice. Pick out the dice that score and set them aside, then choose:

  • Bank — keep the points and end your turn.
  • Score and continue — keep the points in play and reroll the dice you did not set aside. If a reroll produces no scoring combination, you bust and lose everything banked that turn. Using every die in a scoring set clears the board, which lets you reroll all six and keep stacking — that is where the big turns come from.

What scores

Singles: a 1 is worth 100, a 5 is worth 50. Three of a kind scores far more than singles — 1s pay the most, and among the rest the value climbs with the face. A full straight of 1-6 pays 1,500. The in-game score chart (press E during a game) is the authority, so check it before you bet, because some special dice change what counts.

When to bank and when to push

The decision is about remaining dice, not gut feeling:

  • With one or two dice left after setting aside scores, the chance of scoring again is low. Bank.
  • With four or more dice still in hand, a reroll is usually worth it.
  • If you are ahead, make the opponent take the risks; if you are far behind, push.
  • Do not keep every lone 5. Sometimes keeping one 5 and rerolling the rest preserves dice for a bigger triple or straight.

Special dice and badges

Special dice are loaded variants found from quests, shops, and exploration; they bias certain faces. Community testing puts Weighted dice near the top for their high 1-frequency, with Pi (6-heavy), Heavenly Kingdom and Favourable (1/5-heavy) as strong supports, and Saint Antiochus’ dice (all 3s) as a near-guaranteed triple engine if you can farm a set. Treat those rankings as player-measured — bias numbers drift with patches. Badges add another layer: betting a badge grants an effect, but a loss forfeits both the badge and the wager, so save before a high-stakes badge game.
