Fighting Multiple Enemies in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

How to survive being outnumbered in KCD2: positioning, terrain funnels, target priority, and why the Master Strike alone will not save you.

Never let them flank you

The cardinal rule: keep enemies in front of you. The moment someone gets behind you, you take free hits you cannot block. Constant movement is mandatory — never stand still in a group fight. Backpedal and circle so the enemies are forced into a single file. If you hold your ground, they wrap around you; if you drift, they naturally queue up.

Use the terrain

Bohemia is full of bottlenecks you can exploit:

  • Funnel enemies through doorways, between rocks, or across fallen logs
  • Fight with your back to a wall so no one can flank
  • Use trees and obstacles to block mounted or charging enemies
  • Fight uphill or on slopes to disrupt enemy footing when you can A narrow doorway turns a three-on-one into a series of one-on-ones.

Pick your target

Drop the biggest threat or the weakest link first:

  • Glass cannons (archers, unarmored assassins) go down fast and stop the chaos
  • Heavily armored brutes can wait while you clear the soft targets
  • If one enemy is low, finish them so the numerical disadvantage shrinks

Stamina and the Master Strike

The Master Strike wins duels, but in a group it only handles one attacker at a time. You still need stamina management — if your ring empties mid-swarm, the next hit bleeds you out. The Against All Odds perk (Warfare) specifically buffs your damage when outnumbered, which is why it is a staple in the builds guide.

When to run

Henry starts the game weak. If you are outnumbered by anything stronger than a single bandit and have no levels or perks yet, flee, level up, and return. Running is not cowardice — it is the correct tactical choice until your stats catch up.
