Doshaguma Hunt Guide: Pack Strength and Belly Damage
Doshaguma is a pack monster that gets harder with company. How to split the group, why the belly is the target, and how to stop the rolling charge.
Doshaguma is one of Wilds’ early large monsters and a good teaching fight: big, readable, and genuinely dangerous when it brings friends. The single most important thing to know is that its strength scales with the pack, so the fight you get depends on whether you are facing one or several.
Target and element
The belly is the weak point. Fire and Thunder are the elements that work. Sonic Bombs are resisted, so do not build a plan around stunning it with sound.
The belly is under the monster, which is a real positional problem — you have to be beneath a rolling, charging bear to hit it. The safer approach is to hit the belly when it is committed to a charge that ends near you, then leave before it turns.
The pack problem
Doshaguma travel in groups. A group is significantly more dangerous than a solo individual, and the practical answer is to separate them. Dung Pods and positioning do that work; fighting three at once because they all showed up is how hunts fail.
If you are hunting one specifically, pull it away from the others rather than starting the fight in the middle of the pack.
The charge
The rolling charge is its main threat and it covers a lot of ground. It commits hard, which means after a whiff it is exposed — that is your belly window. Trying to dodge it at close range is unreliable; being behind the charge line is reliable.
Gear notes
Mobility beats defence on this fight because the danger is being run over rather than being ground down. If you are using a slow weapon, plan the belly windows rather than trying to stay underneath continuously.
Multiplayer note
In a group, splitting the pack is more valuable than stacking damage on one monster. Carrying Dung Pods is the cheapest way to make this fight manageable, and it is the kind of preparation that separates a clean hunt from a chaotic one.
