Monster Hunter Wilds Weakness Chart: Every Monster
The base-game Wilds weakness chart: each large monster's best element, weak spot, and resistances, from the in-game Field Guide and cross-checked.
Knowing what to bring is half the hunt. This chart lists the Monster Hunter Wilds large monsters you will meet in the main roster — base game plus free Title Update monsters such as Gravios — with their best element, the part to focus, and what they shrug off. Data is compiled from the in-game Hunter’s Field Guide (which unlocks full detail after your first successful hunt) and cross-checked against community testing — always confirm in your own Field Guide, because hitzone values shift between Low and High Rank.
How to read it
- Weak point — the part that takes the most damage and is usually breakable or severable.
- Best element — what amplifies your damage; bring it on your weapon or ammo.
- Resists — elements or items that do little or nothing. Avoid wasting them here.

Using the chart in a build
If you are still picking a weapon, the best weapon guide and the elemental vs raw discussion explain when to lean into an element versus raw. For the endgame elders (Arkveld, Zoh Shia), a Dragon set is the safe investment — see the armor skills build guide.
Guardian variants appear in High Rank and cannot be captured — plan to carve, not trap. The guardian monsters explainer covers where they show up and why their weakness profiles are wider.
