Space Marine 2 Chaos Spawn: Kill the Majoris Brawler

The Chaos Spawn is a mutated Majoris melee enemy in Thousand Sons Operations. Why it hits hard, how to parry it, and why corners get you killed.

The Chaos Spawn is the mutated brawler of the Thousand Sons roster — a Majoris-tier melee enemy added as Chaos Spawn variations in Patch 10. It is not a Tyranid, and it is not a boss. It is a single, very angry target that hits far harder than its tier suggests, which is why players searching “how to kill Chaos Spawn” usually mean “why is this thing deleting me.”

What it actually is

Chaos Spawn sits in the enemy types guide as a Chaos-faction Majoris. Compared with the Tyranid Zoanthrope, which is a ranged psychic problem, the Chaos Spawn is pure melee pressure: it closes, swings, and keeps swinging. The chaos faction guide frames it as one of the durable melee threats you meet alongside Rubric Marines and Tzaangors.

How to fight it

  • Give it space. The mistake is backing into a corner. A Chaos Spawn in a corner turns a readable fight into a trap, because you cannot dodge out of its combo. Open ground is the counter.
  • Parry the blue, dodge the red. Like every enemy in the game, its telegraphed (blue) swings are parryable for a stagger and a Gun Strike; unblockable (red) attacks must be dodged. The parry timing guide covers the input windows per weapon profile.
  • Executions restore your armour. Every broken Chaos Spawn is a free execution, and executions refill armour — use that to reset after a bad trade rather than backing off empty.
  • Do not fight several at once. The community nickname for them is “meatballs” because a pack of them stacks stunlock on one player. If more than one spawns, split them: one player kites, the rest focus.

Class and weapon notes

Because it is melee, every class can answer it — but the classes without a primary weapon (Assault, Bulwark) still need to reach it, and Bulwark’s shield makes trading safer. Ranged classes should thin the adds first so the brawler does not get free hits while you are occupied. A Melta or heavy bolter is overkill on a Majoris; a bolter or melee parry loop is the efficient answer.

Where it shows up

Chaos Spawn appears in Thousand Sons Operations and Siege, not in the Tyranid PvE pool. If your squad keeps wiping on Chaos, the problem is usually add control and spacing, not boss damage — clear the lane, then take the brawler one at a time.
