Space Marine 2 Extremis Enemies: The Mid-Boss Tier

Extremis enemies are the mid-bosses that end runs faster than any swarm. Neurothropes, Lictors, and Zoanthropes demand discipline, not damage. Here is how to survive them.

Extremis sit one step below bosses

Extremis are the enemies that are not Terminus bosses but hit like they are. They appear alone or in pairs, hit far harder than Majoris, and punish a squad that treats them like chaff. The enemy types guide places them in the tier system; this page is about the habits that keep you alive when one shows up. The boss list covers the Terminus versions. Extremis are the warm-up that kills you if you skip the warm-up.

Neurothrope and Zoanthrope punish clustering

The psychic Tyranid Extremis hit the squad hardest when everyone stands close. Spread out so a single blast or beam cannot catch three Marines at once. A Bulwark can screen one angle, but the real defense is not stacking on the same spot.

Lictor rewards patience

The Lictor cloaks and punishes panic. The squad that holds position, listens for the audio cue, and turns to meet it reliably beats the one that spins and scatters. Focus fire the moment it commits, and do not chase it into a worse position. The gene seed page matters here: Extremis drops gene seed on death, which is why killing them cleanly matters for prestige.

Do not over-commit melee

Extremis hit hard enough that trading blows is a losing game for most classes. Stagger with a gun-strike or auspex, deal your window of damage, and back off. The class that can brawl one is the exception, not the rule. A squad that respects the Extremis threat clears it in one focus window. A squad that underestimates it loses a member and the rest of the wave with him.

Extremis need focus

Extremis enemies punish split damage, so the squad commits fire to drop one before the next. The target priority page covers the order. A squad that focuses the Extremis survives the wave.
