Space Marine 2 Imurah: The Campaign's Final Fight

Imurah closes the campaign in the Demerium rift, and the fight is built around obelisks and warp rifts rather than a health bar. How to read it.

The structure

The rift battle is staged. Obelisks power the warp rifts, and destroying them is how the arena is made survivable — the encounter is not a straight damage race from the moment you enter. Warp energy, summoned enemies, and Imurah’s own attacks fill the space between those objectives. So the fight’s real demand is task discipline. Every phase asks whether the squad should be attacking the boss or dismantling the thing keeping the arena hostile, and the answer is usually the objective first, because a rift left standing keeps generating the pressure that kills you.

Fighting a teleporting caster

Imurah is a ranged, mobile boss. That combination removes the usual answers: you cannot parry a teleport, you cannot hold a lane against something that leaves, and you cannot rely on a static damage window. What works is the standard anti-caster pattern. Stay spread so a single warp attack cannot catch three players. Keep moving so the area attacks land where you were. Take damage windows when they appear rather than trying to force them, and prioritise the adds that block your movement — the campaign’s Chaos enemies, Rubric Marines and Tzaangors, are the ones that turn a manageable boss into a corner. The mechanics you have been practising all campaign are the ones that matter here: blue versus red attacks tells you what can be countered at all, and contested health is how you recover without a Stimm during a phase where you cannot stop.

Why the campaign version is worth understanding

Two reasons. First, the story concludes here, and the fight’s structure explains the plot rather than sitting on top of it — the obelisks and the rift are the point, not set dressing. Second, the campaign is the tutorial for Operations whether or not it says so. Every Terminus pattern in Operations is a harder version of something the campaign taught: a boss that summons, a boss that moves, a boss with an objective. A player who understood Imurah will read the Hive Tyrant and the Heldrake faster.

After the credits

There is no New Game Plus as of Patch 14. Campaign missions can be replayed for story, difficulty clears, missed collectibles, or co-op, but there is no upgraded-character loop. Progression lives in Operations, and it is separate: campaign levels do not carry over, and Operations gear does not affect PvP. Start with the Operations list, check the difficulty table before pushing threat levels, and read the perk page before spending Requisition you will want later.
