Unlock Ranked in THE FINALS: ~60 Completed Rounds, Not Wins

Ranked in THE FINALS unlocks on completed rounds, not wins. What counts toward it, how Playstyle Tokens work, and what happens to your Battle Pass.

Here’s the counterintuitive part: winning has nothing to do with unlocking Ranked. You need completed rounds, not victories. Players who chase kills and quit the moment a tournament turns sour are the ones still locked out weeks later.

What actually unlocks Ranked

You need around 60 completed rounds in any mode, then a short set of placement matches. Embark has shifted the exact gate between seasons, so treat that number as approximate. Check the Ranked tile in game — it tells you what you still owe.

The important word is completed. Quitting mid-tournament doesn’t bank the rounds. If you want Ranked, finish your matches even when the run is falling apart.

The fastest route is whichever mode closes out rounds quickest for you. Quick Cash counts, and so do bot matches, which let you complete rounds without fighting for your life.

Then come placements. Run them on one class with one loadout — swapping mid-placement is how people end up calibrated lower than they deserve.

Playstyle unlocks

Playstyles are the ready-made loadout bundles. You start with three and immediately get a Playstyle Token for a fourth of your choice. The rest arrive over your first 20 rounds.

Spend that first token on a role you understand, not on whatever is strong this week. Season 12 removed VRs, so weapons and gadgets now come online with their parent Playstyle or automatically. The token is the main gate on your loadout.

Do you keep your Battle Pass?

Partly — and this is where people get burned.

Cosmetics you already unlocked stay on your account permanently. Unclaimed Free-track rewards expire when the season ends. Buy Premium late and it unlocks everything for levels you’ve already reached.

Each pass later returns as a Legacy Battle Pass, three seasons after its debut, bought with Show Tokens.

Cross-season policy does move around, so check the official season notes before assuming this season behaves like the last one. Confirm the end date, and claim your rewards before it arrives.

None of the casual grind is wasted

Fans, sponsors and Ranked all feed the same account. Time spent in casual still builds your sponsor progress and your World Tour rank, so the round counter isn’t the only thing moving.

Once you’re in, Ranked Cashout is a different game from casual — read it before your first placement. And lock your class early, because placements punish switching.
