ARC Raiders Expedition at Level 20: What You Trade

At level 20 ARC Raiders offers an optional Expedition that trades character and stash progress for account rewards. What resets and what stays.

Reaching level 20 in ARC Raiders unlocks an optional Expedition. It is a deliberate, prestige-style reset: you trade a large portion of your current character and stash progress for account-level rewards and the start of a new cycle. Treating it like a routine upgrade is the most common mistake players make at the cap.

What you trade

The Expedition asks for much of your character progression and your stash progress. That includes the skill points you allocated, the ultimate Traits you worked toward (which required 15 points to unlock), and the gear and materials sitting in Speranza. It is a clean slate, not a side grade.

What you gain

In return, you receive account-level rewards that persist across cycles — benefits that follow the account rather than the single character. You then begin a new cycle with those bonuses baked in, which is what makes the reset attractive once you have exhausted the current progression.

When to do it

Do not trigger an Expedition casually or because the option appeared. It makes sense when your current character has little left to unlock and the account rewards outweigh starting over. If you are still working toward Traits, trader unlocks, or rare loadouts, finishing those first is almost always the better call.

A pre-commit checklist

Before you confirm, ask three questions. Have you spent the skill points you already earned? Have you claimed and used the trader rewards you worked for? Is there anything in your stash you would regret losing? If any answer is no, wait. The Expedition is meant for the moment when a fresh cycle with account bonuses is worth more than the character you have built. The death penalty page is a reminder that normal raids already reset your carried gear constantly — the Expedition is the one reset that touches everything permanent, so decide with intent.
