ARC Raiders Hatch Key: Where to Get Your Safety Net

A Raider Hatch is the only extraction with no timer, but it needs a key. Where keys come from, the Shani cost and level gate, and why Safe Pocket matters.

A Raider Hatch is the only extraction in ARC Raiders with no time limit and no wait. You find one on the map, use the attached console, and return to Speranza immediately with everything you are carrying. The trade-off is the key: a hatch does nothing without a Raider Hatch Key in your inventory.

Where the key comes from

You can get a Hatch Key two ways:

  • As a quest reward, most directly from the Hatch Repair quest.
  • By buying it from Shani’s shop for 9,000 Credits, limited to one per 24 real-world hours, and only once you reach level 12. The quest path is free but gated behind progress; the shop path is reliable but slow and credit-expensive, so most players keep a small reserve rather than spend every key. One key opens one hatch, which is why you do not burn it on the first hatch you pass — a hatch is worth saving for the raid where you are actually pinned.

Keep it in your Safe Pocket

The key only helps if you have it when you need it, and a knockout deletes loose inventory. Store the key in your Safe Pocket so it survives a down — the safe pocket guide explains how that slot works and why a Free Loadout leaves you exposed.

Why it changes a raid

Regular extraction points force a 15-second open, a roughly two-minute departure window, and a warning sound that draws machines and rival Raiders. When you are pinned, low on time, or holding valuable loot, a hatch is a guaranteed exit those points cannot offer. It is not a substitute for learning map extractions — your key supply is limited — but it is the safety net that lets you take a calculated risk and still get home. For the regular extraction mechanics the hatch supplements, see the extraction explained page, and for the death penalty that makes the key matter, the beginner death-loss page.
