ARC Raiders Valkyrie: The Flying Threat
The Valkyrie attacks from above and ignores cover you trust. How to force it down and why the ceiling is not safe.
It comes from where you are not looking
The Valkyrie fights from the air, which means the cover that protects you from ground units does nothing for you. Players who hug a wall against a Valkyrie are hugging a wall while being shot over it, and the mistake is invisible until the second hit lands. The large ARC guide frames the big encounters. The Valkyrie is the one where the usual rules of cover stop applying.
Force it to land
The Valkyrie is most dangerous while it is free to move and fire from any angle. The counter is to make it commit: push it, corner it, or concentrate fire so it has to drop to a position it can hold. Once it is on the ground, it is a target like any other, and the fight becomes one you can win. The combat guide on repositioning matters more here than anywhere, because the angle you need is the one the Valkyrie is currently denying you.
Spread the damage
A Valkyrie that focuses one player ends that player fast. Spread out so it cannot line up a single target, and use the space to keep firing from angles it cannot cover all at once. Two players stacked behind one crate are one volley; two players ten metres apart are a problem it has to solve twice.
Do not fight it while looting
The Valkyrie is the worst enemy to meet with a full bag and a slow exit. If it appears while you are loaded, the correct move is to drop the fight and move, because dying here loses the raid and the loot.
Focus the joints
The Valkyrie is a flying threat that punishes players who spray its hull, so aim for the exposed joints and weak points rather than the armored body. The combat guide covers target priority, and the large arc guide frames where it appears. Bring a weapon with sustained damage because the kill takes focus fire.
Do not stand in the open
It targets from above, so keep cover overhead or reposition constantly, because a stationary raider is an easy mark. The armor guide only helps once you are already hit.
