ARC Raiders PvP Tips: Fighting Other Raiders
The human enemy is the one that flanks and third-parties. How to fight players when machines are not the only threat.
The other raiders are the real game
Machines follow patterns. Players do not, and the player who third-parties your machine fight is the threat the PvPvE guide warns about. Most ARC deaths are not to ARC at all, they are to someone who listened to you fight and then took the opening.
Sound tells you who is near
The audio guide is the foundation, because you cannot win a fight you do not know is starting. A footstep behind you, a reload in the next room, a grenade fuse you did not throw, each one is information that decides whether you turn or you die. Players who raid with music on are playing a different, much harder game.
Do not loot in the open after a kill
The moment you kill a raider, you are the loudest thing on that part of the map, standing still over a body. Other players converge on exactly that. Loot fast or loot later, but do not loot slowly in the spot everyone heard the fight.
Pre-aim the angles, not the body
Against a player, the winner is usually the one who was already aiming where the enemy had to appear. Hold the corner the raider must come around, and let them walk into it, rather than chasing them through the map they know better than you.
Leave when outnumbered
A fight you did not choose and cannot win should be a retreat, not a stand. Disengage using the stealth guide principles, because a player who loses you is a player who has to search, and searching is slow.
Sound first, shots second
Against other raiders, the player who hears first usually wins, so use the audio guide to locate before you peek, and peek from a corner they are not watching. The stealth guide covers not being heard, and the pvpve other raiders page explains the third party. A fight you start on your terms is a fight you win.
Extract, do not hunt
The goal in PvP is the bag, not the kill count, so take the fight only when it protects your exit and leave the glory hunters to each other. The extraction explained page keeps the priority straight.
