BO7 Camo Challenges: Arclight, Moonstone, Bloodstone
How Black Ops 7 mastery camos work, and exactly what the three headline camos — Arclight, Moonstone, Bloodstone — require and how the gate judges them.
Black Ops 7’s mastery camos cause more confusion than the challenges themselves, because the three names players search for — Arclight, Moonstone, Bloodstone — come from three different modes and sit behind a weapon-count gate that isn’t obvious in the menu. This guide explains how the ladder judges each one and where the grind actually lives.
The four-tier ladder, per mode
Each of the four modes (Multiplayer, Zombies, Campaign/Endgame, Warzone) has its own 4-tier mastery ladder. The challenge text is identical across every weapon in a mode; what changes is the gate in front of each tier:
- Tier 1 needs the 12 camos below it on that weapon (the Military + Special camos).
- Tier 2 needs Tier 1 complete on all weapons of the same class — at the launch class size (6 assault rifles, 6 SMGs, 3 shotguns, 3 snipers, 3 pistols, 2 launchers, 2 melee, and so on).
- Tier 3 needs Tier 2 on 30 weapons total (the 30 launch weapons, or any 30 once a season pushes the pool past 30).
- Tier 4 auto-unlocks once you have Tier 3 on the weapon and Tier 3 on 30 weapons — no separate challenge.
The three headline camos and how they count
| Camo | Mode | Tier 2 challenge | Also unlocks at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arclight | Multiplayer | Get 10 Double Kills or better | Shattered Gold on 6 assault rifles |
| Moonstone | Campaign / Endgame | In Endgame, eliminate 100 Zone III or Zone IV enemies | Molten Gold on 6 assault rifles |
| Bloodstone | Zombies | 20+ consecutive kills without taking damage, 5 times | Golden Dragon on 6 assault rifles |
The “or” column is the part players miss: you can earn Arclight by either grinding double kills or by finishing Shattered Gold on all six launch ARs — useful if you prefer a class completion route over raw skill challenges. Moonstone is an Endgame-mode task (Zone III/IV enemies), not standard Campaign; Bloodstone’s “consecutive kills without taking damage” is the strict one and rewards safe, methodical runs over aggressive ones, and it’s earned in the Zombies mode built around the Ashes of the Damned map covered in our Zombies guide.
What gates the grind more than the challenge
The challenge itself is the easy half. The hard half is the 30-weapon requirement at Tier 3 and Tier 4. Two things to know:
- You can skip guns you hate. The requirement is 30 weapons, not 30 specific ones, and every seasonal weapon added since launch counts as a slot — so a seasonal SMG you enjoy can stand in for a launcher you’d rather never touch.
- You cannot skip the class gate. Tier 2 is still per class at launch size, so a launcher’s second-tier camo still needs first-tier on both launch launchers.
Legacy weapons carried into Warzone from Modern Warfare II, MWIII, and Black Ops 6 do not support BO7 mastery camos, so they can’t fill a slot.
Where to start
Pick the mode whose headline camo you want — Arclight from Multiplayer, Moonstone from Endgame, Bloodstone from Zombies — and treat the Tier 1 class completion as the real project, since Tier 2 and the 30-weapon gate both build on it. The same weapon progress also feeds the Weapon Prestige and Mastery Badge trophies, so the BO7 Weapon Prestige guide is worth reading alongside this — the same guns you’re camo-grinding are the ones you’ll want prestiged for permanent unlocks.
