Destiny 2 update 7/28/26: where to read the official notes

The 7/28/26 update notes are published on Bungie’s official site and inside the game client. Read them there, not from a forum repost that may be wrong.

Where the notes live

Bungie posts patch notes on their news page and on the in-game director. The official Bungie site is the source of truth for what changed. Screenshots from forums can be outdated within hours of posting.

What an update usually changes

Balance passes tune weapon damage and enemy health across the board. Bug fixes patch quests that got stuck. New or returning events appear on the calendar. None of this is guesswork; the notes list each item plainly.

Why the date matters

A note dated 7/28/26 applies from that weekly reset forward. Anything written before it may describe a different build than the one you are running today. Always match the date to your client version.

How to read notes fast

Skim the balance section for your main weapons first. Then check known issues at the bottom for problems the patch has not fixed yet. That order tells you what to expect in tonight’s run.

The known issue tracker

Bungie keeps a live list of problems still open after a patch. If something breaks on 7/28/26, check that tracker before you blame your own setup. Our server status guide flags live issues during big updates.

Don’t trust reposts

A notes image shared on social media can be old or edited by hand. Always open the official Bungie post before you change a build. The real text is what matters for your loadout.

Patch day etiquette

Servers are busy right after a big update drops. If you cannot log in at reset, wait a little while. Our server status guide shows whether the problem is you or the crowd.

Keep a changelog habit

Note which of your weapons got tuned each patch. Builds drift as the meta moves with every update. A quick read of the notes keeps your loadout from falling behind the curve.

Stay current

Our weekly reset guide explains what refreshes every Tuesday. And our returning player guide catches you up if you skipped a season. For the exact 7/28/26 details, check the official Bungie site.
