Destiny 2 Divinity: Damage Bubble Trace Rifle

Divinity cages a target in a damage-amplifying bubble your whole team can shoot. Here is the Garden of Salvation source and how it works

Divinity is an exotic trace rifle from the Garden of Salvation raid. Its beam locks onto a target and forms a cage around it. Enemies inside the cage take more damage, so your entire fireteam shoots the same spot for a big team boost. It is a support weapon, not a solo DPS tool.

How to get Divinity

Divinity comes from the Divinity exotic quest, which is completed inside the Garden of Salvation raid rather than from a random drop. You need the quest active before the run and a fireteam that can finish the raid with it, which means it is a pre-made group activity: raids are not matchmade in Destiny 2, so a Director queue will not get you there. Find a group through the LFG guide and read the raid preparation notes before you commit a night to it.

How to play Divinity

Hold the beam on the boss during damage phases. Keep the cage up for as long as possible, because the damage bonus only applies while it is active. Communicate with your team so they focus the caged target. In raid encounters with multiple enemies, cage the priority target first.

The Divinity catalyst

The Divinity catalyst adds Jolting Feedback on top of the cage damage bonus, which makes the weapon mandatory in Arc-oriented raid teams. Farm it from Garden of Salvation on featured weeks.

Divinity mistakes that waste the cage

  • Using it as a solo damage weapon.
  • Letting the cage drop mid-phase.
  • Targeting adds instead of the boss during damage windows.

FAQ

Is Divinity good in PvP? The slow beam makes it a weak Crucible pick.

What is the damage bonus? The cage applies a meaningful damage increase for everyone shooting the target.

Which raids use it? Any team-fight raid where focus fire matters.

Divinity usage checklist for damage phases

  • Farm Garden of Salvation for the drop.
  • Hold the beam during damage phases.
  • Call the caged target for your team.
  • Farm the catalyst on featured weeks.

Who should carry it

Divinity is a fireteam decision, not a personal one, because the carrier gives up their own damage for everyone else’s. The right carrier is whoever loses least by doing it — usually the player on the most supportive build rather than the top DPS. Cages also have to stay up through the whole window, so the carrier needs a phase they can survive without repositioning; a carrier who dies mid-window has cost the team both the slot and the buff. Agree the carrier before the encounter starts, not during it. The Garden of Salvation guide covers the encounter order, and how to prepare for a raid covers the role split.
