Destiny 2 Junk Vendor Location: Where to Look Today
No Destiny 2 vendor is officially called the junk vendor. Here is what players mean by the phrase and how to find rotating vendor stock.
You have walked the Tower twice, and no vendor answers to the name “junk vendor.” That is because no Destiny 2 NPC carries that title. The phrase is player slang, and it usually points at Xur, the Agent of the Nine. He sells a small set of exotics that changes every week, and the stock is random. When his inventory disappoints, players joke that he only sells junk.
His location also moves between a handful of known spots each week. Our Xur guide covers how his rotation works and what to expect.
The second meaning is any vendor with rotating stock. Tess Eververse in the Bazaar refreshes her Bright Dust offers on a weekly schedule. Playlist vendors like Shaxx and Banshee-44 rotate their bounty and gear pools with each season. If you are hunting a specific item, open the vendor’s menu and check what is on sale before you spend materials.
How to find rotating vendors today
The fastest method is the map. Each vendor shows a marker, and hovering their name lists what they currently sell. If a vendor has no marker, check the Destinations tab for their current spot.
The weekly reset refreshes most rotations, so check right after it for new stock. Our weekly reset guide explains what changes and when to look. Community sites and the official companion app also list weekly inventories if you prefer to plan ahead.
Not every vendor refreshes at the same time, so re-check before you farm for a specific item.
Cleaning out actual junk
If you meant the gear you want to get rid of, start in the vault. Dismantle legendaries you never use, and keep exotics you have not yet unlocked in Collections. Masterworked gear returns a small materials refund, so check before you break it down. Our vault management guide lays out a simple cleanup routine.
Cosmetics like shaders and sparrows can be stored safely once they are unlocked. Anything with a low power level and no great perks is safe to break down. Glimmer and shards are easy to re-earn, so do not hoard filler gear out of guilt. Keep a stack of legendary shards handy, since dismantling junk is how you fund vendor purchases.
