Destiny 2 Map and Territory Quest: All 12 Anchors

Map and Territory sends you back into The Desert Perpetual raid for 12 anchors. Here is the step order and the ones people miss.

Map and Territory is the Desert Perpetual raid’s side quest, and it rewards the Envoy’s Togs shader. You need The Edge of Fate to pick it up.

Step 1: Visit Dean Rebecca on Kepler

She is in the Kepler hub. Talk to her and take the quest. Nothing else happens yet.

Step 2: Clear The Desert Perpetual

Finish the raid. The quest does not move until the final boss is down, so bring a fireteam for this part.

Raids need planning and a group. The raids guide covers what to bring, and how to prepare covers the checks before you launch.

Step 3: Approach the Simulant Ansible in the Nursery

The Nursery is the central hub where you pick an encounter. The Ansible is the tall statue standing there.

Walk up and interact with it. Maya and Chioma explain what they want from you.

Step 4: Identify a confluence

This is the step most people end up searching for, and it is simpler than it sounds.

Use the network proximity sensor once, near the Ansible. The objective ticks over and the hunt begins.

You do not go looking for anything on this step. It only arms the search for the anchors.

Step 5: Place all 12 anchors

Now the real work starts. Nine anchors sit out in the raid’s traversal spaces.

The other three appear only after you kill a boss. They are in the Hydra, Hobgoblin, and Wyvern boss rooms.

Loot the chest first, then look behind or beside it. One of them sits directly behind the reward chest.

Bring a Strand grapple or an Eager Edge sword. Several anchors are on platforms and rooftops that normal jumps will not reach.

The Strand guide covers grapple movement if that subclass is new to you.

Grab the pre-boss anchors before opening any door

Anchors near a boss door can disappear once the encounter starts. Sweep the approach with your team before anyone touches the door.

Progress saves between runs

You do not need all 12 in one sitting. Anything you placed stays placed, so a slow few weeks works fine.

Stuck on 11 of 12?

Walk the path back from the Hobgoblin boss slowly. Plenty of players sprint that corridor and miss the anchor on the wall.

Step 6: Return to the Ansible

Go back to the Nursery and interact with the statue again. The quest completes and the shader is yours.

If the quest will not complete

Some players report the final interaction doing nothing. Try talking to the vendor near the statue first, then come back to it.

If that fails, relaunch a fresh raid instance and interact again. Progress carries over, so you lose nothing by retrying.
